Second Grade
Get Your Head in the Clouds!
Real World Need:
Youth who understand the importance of dreams and establish steps towards achieving dreams (goals) will establish self confidence and motivation.
Session Goal:
Construct dreams from four perspectives of life and establish goals encouraging big dreams.
Lesson 1: 45 minutes
Learning Objectives

Students will write 1-2 places they would like to travel, in order to develop dreaming and goal setting confidently.

Students will write and identify at least 4 dreams/goals related to different perspectives (career, family, community, school), by including ideas beyond themselves.

Students may participate in an additional group sharing activity that will allow them to collaborate with peers, and discover the array of perspectives that can come from dreaming and goal setting.
Fourth Grade
Glow Dreams Glow!
Real World Need:
Youth who develop relationships and self-confidence with community leaders are more likely to develop community relationships and become contributing citizens.
Session Goal:
Develop dreams (goals) and create an action plan to accomplish goals.
Lesson 1: 45 minutes
Learning Objectives

After a brainstorming activity with peer groups, students will independently construct a list of 25 dreams building upon previous school year’s dream board.

Based upon 1 dream from their list, students will develop a written statement with a goal plan on how they will attempt to accomplish their dreams.
Sixth Grade
Be the Dream Catcher
Real World Need:
Youth that establish relationships with community partners, will be more likely to develop self-confidence and contribute to society.
Session Goal:
Develop dreams/goals and pair them with affirmation leading to self-motivation and confidence.

Learning Objectives

Students will journal throughout the school year after using their previous dream board for inspiration to create a list of 50 dreams so that they can continue to examine their ideas and how they can be included in their lives.
Eighth Grade
Don't Stop Believing
Lesson 1: 40 minutes
Real World Need:
Students will explore the importance of dreaming and goal setting by analyzing quality over quantity. Setting quality goals throughout leads to self-motivation and confidence.
Session Goal:
Develop long and short-term goals.
Learning Objectives

Students will collaborate with a partner through a series of questions, in order to prepare their creativity to build their 100 Dreams Inventory.

Students will list 100 Dreams and interpret how they apply to their lives.
Lesson 2: 40 minutes
Real World Need:
Identifying a large list of goals, and then narrowing it to priority goals will encourage youth to set quality goals. Identifying clear goals and steps toward goal achievement promotes confident youth.
Session Goal:
Identify a goal and express an action plan to achieve a goal.

Students will have open group discussions based on their dreams list and explore the importance of supporting their peers, in order to communicate how they want to achieve goals.

Tenth Grade
Be SMART!
Real World Need:
Youth who embrace their creativity are more likely to identify what they are passionate about. This happiness and passion creates better family members, students, and more productive community members.
Session Goal:
Understand the value of SMART goals and create a SMART goal.

Learning Objectives

Students will evaluate real-life scenarios and apply SMART goals in order to effectively problem solve.

Students will engage in collaborative discussions in order to create and express a SMART goal and establish a long and a short-term action plan.

Twelfth Grade

Real World Need:
As young adults, youth need to identify what they are passionate about to promote strong family members, students, and productive community members.

Youth will continue to explore the importance of dreaming and goal setting by reviewing short- and long-term goals and the importance of maintaining both.
